Does anyone know the legal age limit required for a person to be a pillon rider?

Don't think there is a legal minimum age as long as the pillion rider is wearing a helmet.

Any limits usually apply to the age, license and experience of the rider, not the passenger.

DVLA will keep you right.

I think you will find that they (The pillon) have to be able to securely place their feet on the footrests....

There is a bill going through Parliament to make it illegal to carry a child as a pillion passenger. It is not law yet though. Details here http://www.parliament.the-stationery-office.co.uk/pa/cm200405/cmbills/059/05059.i-i.html

If the rider is a provisional licence holder, the passenger must be over 21 and have held a full licence for three years.

Afraid I have to disagree with Grunty. You must not carry a pillion passenger until you have obtained a full licence regardeless of the passengers licence entitlement.

There is no minimum legal age, it is legal as long as the passenger is able to sit on the bike with no danger of falling off, ie, reach the footrests comfortably and hold on to the grab handles correctly, if fitted, or hold on securely to the driver.
