Ford 2006 RDS Radio Cassette

Hi,

I have a Ford 2006 Radio/Cassette which I want to change for a Goodmans CD player. Does anyone know or have the wiring diagram for the 2 existing connectors on the 2006. I have looked in the manual and on the casing but no luck. Any assistance appreciated.

Car stereo wiring is usually pretty standard manufacturer to manufacturer, but the following may help. This is the colour coding from a standard stereo (not sure which model exactly) in the last Mk7 Escort.

Grey - RH rear speaker

White - RH rear speaker

Grey/white - LH rear speaker

Violet/White - LH rear speaker

Grey/Red - RH front speaker

White/Red - RH front speaker

Grey/Black - LH front speaker

White/Black - LH front speaker

Blue/White - power aerial

Orange/Black - Illumination

Black/Orange - from alarm

Black/Green - negative earth

Yellow/Green - ignition

Orange/Black - power

Anything extra goes to control a seperate CD player.

not this one skids, red is battery positive, yellow is ignition feed live, brown is usually negative. trouble is, ford stereos use up to four negatives thats where it gets confusing...

Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow. Just identifying what each connector relates to has helped me so the actual colours are an added bonus. Thanks for you help..

Your best bet(and safest) is to seek out your local car stereo specialist or halfords and purchase an autoleads adapter,ive used em for years,and you have the added bonus of putting your standard stereo back in when you sell the vehicle,withuot any chopped or taped wires.

Any idea where i can find out which pin is which on the rear of the unit?
