Car Insurance Again
I've just called Saga to see if they can improve on my renewal quote, which they couldn't and just encouraged me to shop around. The operator was very apologetic and seemed resigned to cancelling policies and explaining how to move elsewhere. Quite surprised really. Anyway....
I've checked All the comparison websites I can think of plus Aviva and Direct Line. The most competitive prices are with companies I've never heard of so a bit weary. Anyone any other tips before I make a decision?

On top of that if you take out a policy with confused.com you can choose a car wash every month (at IMO carwash stations) or £20 halfords voucher or £20 Shell fuel, obviously if there's a Shell station near you.
I never go for the cheapest quote...I want good cover at a fair price. I only ever insure with a Which? Recommended provider.
Currently they are LV, NFU Mutual, Aviva, Direct Line and Churchill.
Each of the last two years, my premium has reduced by a total of nearly 20% - that's without asking! With LV.
hi maydup, i said this on the other thread but i got mine through topcashback.co.uk, ad got it for £198 fully comp with aviva with £42 cashback.
People get put off of TCB but i just had a look and i have geniuinely ot over £500 in cashback in 3 years. The offre i posted about before with the extra £20 is not on any more but if you use my code referral

to join, i get a bonus :) and you still get your cashback if you go thru their comparison site
All done! After a long boring session of giving every possible insurance company all my details I settled for Churchill bought via the cash back site (thanks Bednobs).
The premium was £80 less than SAGA plus £40 cash back is payable in time.
For info NFU expect you to phone them, LV, AA, Aviva, Axa, GA, Hastings and all comparison sites were similar prices but a tad more than Churchill.
My tip is to increase your excess to the max and save on the premium based on the fact that you're probably only going to claim if it's a right off anyway. Fingers crossed.
