Electronic Stability Programme Light
The ESP warning light is on and stays on. I've booked it in to the garage but it's a week away. There seems to be a number of possible reasons why the warning light is staying on, (brakes, tyres, ESP system fault etc) but are any of them any reason not to be driving as normal for the next week?

This is based on an inciden t about a month ago when OH had to brake fiercely on a steep downhill corner - don't think the car liked it and the ESP light came on and stayed on until we reached our destination. On re-starting, it stayed off and off it has stayed. Not a techie, but hope this helps a bit.
The handbook explains what the ESP is and when the warning light should come on/go off. If it doesn't go off after a restart then to have it checked as it could indicate a number of issues. (Ad mentioned in OP)
The garage didn't say anything other than booking me in for a check, so I assume it's no big risk to keep driving, but I'll take it easy for a week.
