I want to buy a cabriolet for my wifes 40th birthday in may. I'm looking to buy a car about 2 years old, maybe a bit older. I know absolutely nothing about cars, even though I have spent 25 years in a car factory, lol. Any worthwhile suggestions will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Saab 93 - beautiful cars and still pretty bullet proof (not as good as the older ones but still prety darn good)
Well I love the look of the BMW mini cabriolet and how trendy are they eh?
I dont know how much you want to spend or if your wife is one of these silly women who 'cant' drive big cars but i really love the volvo c70.
If you want something smaller what about a peugeot 307 cabrio - they are quite groovy - or renault do a megane cabrio aswell.
I'm not a 40 year old women though!

What about a nice Jag XK8 one of the best looking cars around IMO. I had the use of one for a while and loved it.

I think swindontony would have to own a car factory to afford one of them - not work in one!
There was no mention of budget though!

Thanks for all your suggestions, as regards to a budget, my wife has a 2 year old peugot 1.1 fever which she would trade in, we are looking at a budget of about 8,000 inclusive of trade in.
What about a renault megane. I hired one for my wife a couple of years ago and it was painless. Not a performer though but did all the right things and looked good.
Renault like all cars french are not the most reliable but I would buy one of these before a new mini conv anytime.
Actually I would buy a Honda S2000.........

Mazda MX5 at that money. You might have to go a bit older than two years, but great little cars loved by women and men alike. My brother owns a Porsche 911 Cabrio, his wife an MX5. Guess which one he has the most fun driving day to day...its not German! Fantastic little cars and ultra reliable too.
