I have contacted the last place it was used, no joy.

Can't find the Julian code in all my paperwork, can't recall ever seeing it, so can't order a new one from main dealer.

What options do I have?

I've not heard of any cases for years - but I don't live in Liverpool!🤣

Nicking catalytic converters was the latest fad.

Many years ago I had this issue with a car I bought; I searched and found an on-line business that supplied a replacement key.  You needed to send them a clear close-up photo of the locking nut/stud and they’d send a replacement (there are only so many differing designs of locking wheel nut).

It was not too expensive, a bit less than buying a new set of four locking wheel nuts, without the trouble of removing the old ones.

I now keep the key in the vehicle cabin central well, it’s no good keeping at home in the garage when you get a flat miles from home.

I've seen that company online, Hymie, but I doubt my photo skills would be up to the job. I always kept my socket with the spare wheel, there is a little well for it along the jack etc

Daughter keeps hers in the ashtray.

That's where I keep change for parking meters. We are still using old style meters here

Mind you, current car, Tiguan doesn't have an ashtray. And an earlier one didn't have a cig lighter, it was an extra if you needed one, well yes it's where most dashcams or mobile chargers are plugged in.
