Looking For A Grammatical Term........
Phrases & Sayings0 min ago
We all know friends or family that have their name shortened, like Christopher shortened to Chris, Or Kevin down to Kev.
My father had a pet hate about names shortened into a kind of nickname.
But how many names can you think of both male and female that can't be shortened.
I'm going to start with female first : Pat.
Male: Mark
How long can we keep this going?

Yes I know someone called Pat, and she hates it if someone calls her Patricia.
I also know someone called Chris, and he goes crazy if someone addressed him as Christopher.
Also moving forward, I know someone called Mark, yet his work mates called him Marcus, yet he hated that too.
So needlessly lengthening the name can equally annoy the person.
>>> I also know someone called Chris, and he goes crazy if someone addressed him as Christopher.
I didn't realise that you'd met me, Quenched! 😊
