knocking and squeeking noises
I have a peugot 106 and after driving it for about 5- 10 minutes the left wheel squeeks and when i turn left it knocks loudley. It all started after I went up a curb to fast. Any ideas what is wrong with it and is my wheel likley to fall off????

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.yes it is serious, get to a garage, or get someone knowledgable ( not a dipstick ) to look at it. the wheel could fall off, brake lock on, brake not work, shall i go on? it's not just your life in the car but passengers & pedestrians! get it fixed before you drive it again, pleeeeeease. it could just be a damaged tyre, �15 from a local tyre shop.
It's quite likely to be the wheel bearings (although problems with bearings are more usually associated with excessive wear rather than impact damage). If so, an independent garage will probably charge you about �100 to fix the problem. (At least that's what my garage quoted me less than a week ago to replace the suspect bearings on my Proton. A main dealer, however, might charge nearer to �250).
Another possible cause of the symptoms you describe could be a broken shock absorber. (Actually, given that the problem seems to be associated with impact damage, this mightbe the most likely cause). A broken front shock absorber could lead to you losing control of the car if you have to brake suddenly, so it's important to get it checked out. (I've not had any shock absorbers repaced for quite a while but, at a rough guess, you might be looking at a bill in the region of �150 from an independent garage).
