Tail lights on my focus have stopped working. Brake lights are Ok but tail lights don't even after replacing bulbs. Tried finding fuse but manual was no use. Any advice?

According to Owners Guide the parking/tail/side lamps are protected by fuse No. 53 lh & 54 rh. (7.5 amp) these are located under the glove compartment. Remove two screws, let panel drop, then loosen Quick Fix screws on fuse box. Hope this helps! Also check the earth lead is making a good contact ( below the taillamp clusters)

Thanks chasbo. The fuse numbers you give are the ones that my manual gave as well, but there aren't any fuses in those slots - never have been. I think I might have to admit defeat and take it to an auto spark.

Thanks anyway

Do you also have console/dash lights and lights in gear shift indicator not working??? My 2001 Focus has similar tail light problem and just occurred Jan 30/06 ....

No Tyrub, it's only the tail lights that aren't working - everything is OK
good to hear all ok now .... for future reference (or if anyone else google's this question as I did), it was fuse #32 (10 amp, listed as "light switch" in owners manual) that took out running tail lights/parkiing lights/console lights ....
