First of all, for any questions on Renaults go to.............RenualtForums.co.uk........you will find all the answers you want there.
I hate to tell you this but you probably have a broken rear caliper, to check this you have get both rear wheels off the ground, put your handbrake on and try and turn the wheels by hand, if one turns that is the one with the broken caliper. the only repair is to have it renewed. Approx 240 at a Renault stealers, sorry Dealers.
The other way to check is to look at the handbrake adjuster, this is quite easy. open the centre glove box, (between the front seats) in the centre of the bottom of the box is a small flap, hard to see but it is there, use a small screwdriver to lever it open. inside is the handbrake adjuster, If one of the handbrake cables has jumped out of the cross bar and the cross bar is not aligned across the car you have a broken rear caliper.
If you want to adjust the handbrake cables just tighten the hexagonal nut which sits behind the cross bar which has the two handbrake cables running from it.
Good Luck.
