if you have car insurance and car tax but no m.o.t can the police take car and smash it up?

You don't even have to have insurance and tax if your car is parked off road and declared SORN.
your insurance is invalid if you have no mot.

if car is used on the road without m.o.t and police stop you whilst driving it the vehicle can be impounded until it is scrapped and rightly so


no m.o.t means no insurance DO NOT DRIVE on road

The only circumstances in which you can drive legally is travelling to or from a pre-arranged m.o.t test or to have work carried out for the m.o.t.


If you are caught driving it for any other reason, they will impound it until an m.o.t certificate is produced for the vehicle, im not sure how that would be possible, probably only by getting it done by a garage appointed by the police (collected and returned on a recovery vehicle) - very expensive !.
