The body work around the petrol cap cover is beginning to corrode. Does anyone know if this would be a MOT fail, can be fixed and is it expensive? Thanks

It would not fail an MOT, it can be fixed, if it is only beggining to corrode it will not cost too much.
It corrodes usually because mud from the wheel gets flung up into the area where the petrol pipe comes through and sticks more readily than on the other side. When/if you clean it, squirt a hose up there occasionally to dislodge the excessive mud.
