So the story goes,the truck was parked in a truckstop somewhere in america,and the thief beat a hasty retreat.Apparently he chanced his luck for nearly a week,before he realized that he had covered 400 miles with still a half tank of fuel! According to the story,ford offered to pay for the man,s bail, fines,or whatever they could do for him,so long as he kept his mouth shut about the vehicles astounding economy! they even offered him a job on his release! It may be a fanciful story,and who can say how true or untrue it may be,but one thing is for certain,as long as crude oil can be turned into petrol there is no way a more efficient fuel will ever be publicised.There is simply too much money in it.War is declared over the defence of countries with substantial oil reserves,the real world powers are the head of major oil companies,presidents and prime ministers are merely puppets.
