I have noticed that on the back of my driving licence (issued in april 1998) that I only have 2 categories listed (B and B1) whereas my boyfriend (who is 4 years older than me) has loads. We both took the usual manual test. Does this mean I am not able to drive certain vehicles?

Have a look at the Driving Standards Agency Website. (Do a Google). In the 90s there were a lot of changes to Licence Categories. An example is that anyone taking test in a car on or after 1 Jan 1997 is not allowed to tow a caravan or trailer without taking an additional test.

Hope this is of help.

wow thanks, I had no idea that I couldn't drive the same vehicles as my friends and boyfriend. Guess I was just unlucky to be born in 1980!
