Rear disks on a 206, 1.1?

Hi can anyone tell me if its possible to convert the rear brakes on a 206 1.1 2005 to disks? even if someone can tell me if any 206's come as standard with disks, as im sure it wud be easier to change the whole rear axle, anyway thanks

Not sure if its possible to swap but there are models in the range that have disc brakes on the rear. The 2 GTi models do and some of the 1.6 XSis .

There are other things to consider than just putting discs on the rear, the brake force from the front and rear wheels is carefully balanced when the car is manufactured, if these are not taken into account the car could become dangerously unbalanced.


Also why would you do this?. Drum brakes are not more powerfull than disc brakes , they just dissipate heat quicker, rear brakes have to be less powerful than the fronts because if they were not everytime you pressed your brake pedal the rear wheels would just lock up causing you to skid!

I agree entirely with Toureman, you could upset the whole handling, not worth the bother for a 1.1.
