kwik-fit mot's
I usually take my car to a garage to have my car mot'd but have just found out that Kwik-fit are offering cheap mot's. Anyone used Kwik-fit for their mot's and if so - good or bad?? Thanks in advance.

I'm willing to bet that any car that fails a Kwik fit MOT will fail with something that they can fit for you!
Don't touch with a bargepole, stick with a reputable garage.
ask them if they'll do a FREE pre mot. then see what they fail it on, get it checked by some one else, if no repairs really needed BIG, LOUD COMPLAINTS and bingo they give you a free mot to shut you up. local garages sometimes do a good deal if you ask them to do the work required as well as the mot. ( & ask for all items taken off / replaced to be put in a box in the boot so you can see they were replaced / worn out. my neighbour had a load of work 'done' and when it started misfiring a week later we found the spark plugs weren't new and one was the wrong type!!! they were on his bill though.
If you want the job done thoroughly and 'by the book' then go to Kwik-Fit. If you've got a few minor faults which you hope will scrape through, go elsewhere. (I've got a small crack on my windscreen, in the swept area, which a more lenient firm has let go through for two yearsin a row. I know that Kwik-Fit would have failed the car because of this).
If, however, you've ever got worries about your brakes, then ALWAYS go to Kwik-Fit. Other firms might remove the wheels and have a 'prod and a poke' but they're nowhere near as good as Kwik-Fit. I had soft brakes on a car which one company claimed to fix and didn't. Two other firms did free examinations and couldn't find a fault. Kwik-Fit refused to do the examination without payment of 20 (refundable against any work done) but they spent nearly an hour stripping down the entire system and finally managed to identify two leaking cylinders which the other firms had missed. To save a few quid on non-safety items, I'll go elsewhere. To save my life I'll go to Kwik-Fit.
