hi please help me when driveing i can hear a rubbing noise when turning left or right when i stoped the front brake disks where really hot and seem to be stuck on it still moves but when driven more than a mile they get really hot how can i fix this
take it to tyre & brake service centre sounds like sticking brake caliper it may need brake pads as well if you have been driving for long distances since you first noticed it
firstly take the brake caliper off, clean the pistons and all the surrounding area off. ease the piston into the caliper squarely and slowly. clean the sliders that the caliper moves on. check the pads and renew if worn. check the disc renew if worn. if pads or disc need renewing both sides have to be done. haynes manuals have the relevent details and wear limits.
thanks i took calipers off cleaned them up abit put some gress around the caliper piston and pushed the pistons back put them back on pads were ok but am going to put new disks on next week the brakes were still stuck abit but drove about 5 miles and brakes have stopped rubbing disk no longer gets hot everything ok thanks for help
brakes have started to rub again today, when i tryed to fix this last time i noticed there were two bolts that hold the brake disk on that had snapped could this be causing the problem, the wheel nuts are all that are holding the disk in place at the moment, could it be the master cylinder, i am determined to fix this any help would be greatly appreciated please
