Cash for Cars
Has anyone sold a car to a dealer without a part ex deal? Girlfriend has a car which will prove expensive to repair so we are thinking of trying a few dealers who offer cars for cash. Anyone out there done the same ? I know the offer will be very low just wondering if it's worth the effort? Can't sell it private as I work away most of the week & she doesn't want people coming round.

Some dealers offer you minium part ex, of say 1000 pounds, but this will be offset in the sceen price and probably carry conditions, say pay by finance. It also leaves you in a weak position to negotiate with the dealer. Sell it on ebay as parts or salvage if you cant do a private sale, even if its for not much, as you will come out better in the long run. Oh and avoid places like yes car credit like the plague.
Bluejonjo has hit the nail on the head by suggesting ebay, that way you only have people calling round on one (pre agreed) occasion to collect it.
This also helps you to get the most possible money for it as there are people who search for this kind of stuff, (i for one) just make sure you word the heading appropriately in order for it to be found i.e. spares/repairs or damaged repairable and be totally honest in the description and it should be a trouble free deal,
Good luck.
