Peugeot 106 Roland Garros

My son has a K plate 106. It has an immobiliser system that works most of the time but appears to be sensitive to the battery voltage. That is, if the car is not run for a few days the immobiliser may not unlock.A charge of the battery solves the problem. I just wondered if the immobiliser was designed only to work at full battery voltage. (I realise replacing the battery is probably in order.) Also is there a way of disabling the immobiliser?

Try a new battery - had same problem on a 306 and this stopped it.

if the immob is an aftermarket one then it shouldnt be too hard to bypass it, you just find where it is wired into (usually ignition or fuel pump) cut it out and if you need to run a wire through where it starts and ends make sure the wire is up to the job and not 2 thin or cheap.

i myself would get a new battery especially if matey said it sorted his 306 out, wouldnt get one from halfords cos they are rip offs try a motor factors or something like that and you'll get one with a long guarantee for under 30quid
