old git riding gy 200

hi, to you all, i live in the midle of nowhere in scotland, i have been riding sports bikes for lots of years but the weather hear is sh-t most of the time and the bikes value drops so much i decided to get one of these chinese copys (gy 200), the bike parforms well but the build quality is cr-p, i have added a few mods to make it look better and also uped the gearing to add a bit of omph to it, i would like to know if any one has altered the size of wheels especially the rear as the originals are very skinny and offer very little feed back, any ideas would be very welcome and appreciated, many thanks john.

I'd be reluctant to.

You may upset the handling. Even though you say you have very little feedback now, changing the wheel size could make it worse. Don't forget that other factors that effect handling are the rake, wheelbase and suspension settings, not just the tyre size. If a larger wheel doesn't compliment the other factors.. it'll be worse.

Do you have a friend with a different bike that you could cahnge them for just to see the difference? Not sure if you'd get spindles to match up though.

hi, many thanks to you len for the technical answers, i really had not thought of those points (you have probably saved me from a nasty slid down the road), i will just have to live with the skinny tyres, its good to know that there are people on this site who know what they are talking about, so thanks again mate, all the best john.
