have just bought a passat auto (2001) 130 tdi how do i change the auto trans oil i can see the drain plug but where do you put the new oil in to get the right level cheers vw mad.

On most gearboxes the 'full' point is when the oil spills back out of the filling hole. Usually the filling hole is accessed through the (left) wheel arch. It will be one of the bolts that hold the casing halves together and will be marked or will be a different size bolt head. I have not filled an automatic but presume it would be similar to a manual.


I am sure if you pop in to your lkocal agent, a mechanic would be willing to show you.
