i have a j reg 1991 celica gtr (jap import) with T.E.M.S suspension are the front shock absorbers the same as the 2.0 gti u.k. model witch dose not have the T.E.M.S suspenstion

The simple answer is No. TEMS was/is only available on limited Japanese models with 4 wheel steering. Sorry but you will have to import the shocks from Japan and I can assure you this will be expensive.
