I have a Mitsubushi shogun R reg and have had no problems with it until today. I noticed the speedo is not working. Is this something that can easily be fixed by my husband or am I looking at an expensive garage bill that I cannot really afford. Does anyone have any idea how to repair this? I will appreciate any suggestions

I don't know specifically about this car but the speedo is normally driven by a cable connected to the gearbox. This has most likely become disconnected.

These sorts of jobs are normally not too difficult but fiddly and can be a bit awkward especially if you've not done it before.

I'd start by getting a Haynes manual at your local Halfords and looking at the pictures for this connection then find it on your car - you'll probably find it's hanging off.

Many thanks jake-the-peg I'll give it a go. buying the manual will certainly be cheaper than getting a garage to do it, if we can manage to repair this ourselves.
