AA Routefinder.

Does anyone else have problems with this? I had to travel a maximum of 12 miles recently and used Routefinder and it took me more than an hour and 20 miles further than it should have. The return journey was 13 minutes as I left it to my own sense of direction even though I had never been in the area before!!

There has been problems with this, there was a story about it where someone wanted to get from say Dover to Southampton and the suggested route was to take the Dover ferry to Calais, drive to Cherbouge and take another ferry to Southampton!

It was something like that, can't remember exactly.

My own experience was not quite as bad as the one Toureman recalls. I wanted to go to the Isle of Wight via Southampton and East Cowes because I prefer the Red Funnel Line. It sent me to Southampton, then Portsmouth, then Fishbourne, then East Cowes.

every one using a route planner should check with a site called multimap or similar, that the route given is in fact sensible. just stick a couple or three of the points on the advised route in and check they line up sensibly ( or use an old fashioned thing called a ...map )
