Car stalls when i stop.

every so often when I stop my car at lights or at junctions etc. the revs die off and the car cuts out.when I restart the car and press the accellerator the revs go up and down as if I'm pres the peddle in and out but i'm not. It seems to get worse as the engine warms up.

When the car is moving it runs perfectly with no noticable miss fires, it also starts first time in the morning what ever the weather.

Sounds like a possible air leak to me. Can you give more info. what car, age, engine etc......

my first thought woman driver just kidding. depends on how old your car is and what type of carb you have. could be slow running jets depends on how low you let your fuel tank get to how much pooh you suck up. if its deisel then could be injector problem please specify.

i had a similar fault with my ford escort 1997 it keeped cutting out when i stopped. took the idle position sensor/ valve off cleaned it out with carb cleaner now runs perfect. but it could be many other things need to know what car you have also petrol or diesel

it is a 1.3i thats injection no car w reg (2000) ford KA.
