i have just purchased a fiesta bonus regd. Nov 90
and have been told it runs on 4 star only - is this correct, surely an H reg would be running on unleaded?

please help, as i dont want to mess up the engine!!

You are OK with unleaded don't worry.

The main problem with using unleaded in an engine that is designed for leaded petrol is wear on the exhast valves inside the cylinder head.

This tends to be a problem with classic sports cars but is likely to be less of a problem for you in a 1 litre fiesta. It tends to start happening more at high revs/speed so unless you're planning to do a lot of milage and motorway travelling I'd not worry.

If you're particularly worried there are a number of products from places like Halfords that you add to the petrol and you could give your car a dose of one of these now and again - but you probably don't need to!
