I own (somewhere) an adorable VW Beetle, about 3 years ago when we moved my parents arranged for it to go somewhere to be fixed up, and I've not seen it since, I don't talk to my dad, and he arranged it , is there any way I can find out where it is through the DVLA?

you only go around once, use it for an excuse to talk to your dad. he's the only one you'll have and when he's gone you may regret it. (or not) but you may even find your car.

Thats really not an option... (he also doesn't talk to me, even though attempts have been made and letters I've written have not been asnwered, it works both way, I'm his only daughter too)

i'm really sorry to hear that, it sounds like shame on him then, i have an only daughter she's is 16, don't know what i'd do if we didn't keep in touch. all i can suggest is, if you did own the car it would still be in your name, they could tell you if its been put on the road since, although someone would have had to sign your name at some point. if it's just been sitting all this time then unfortunately it looks like your dad's the guy that knows.maybe get someone that knows him to ask for you . gee i feel a bit bad for you and wish you the best.

thanks, the car was my pride and joy I saved since I was 11 for it, and even tho it nearly killed me its still remains my dream car.

I hope you and your daughter never go though what me and my dad have, its not easy, no matter what age.

I've mentioned it to my brothers (who talk to him) but I never get a response.

the DVLA website says 'You can obtain the name and address of the registered keeper of a vehicle if you can show reasonable cause for needing the information' so you should have no problem.
