has anyone got an answer as to why my petrol engine rover suddenly sounds like a diesel engine and for some reason my display on the radio has disappeared and because i have had a new battery fitted cannot connect radio as can't see to enter code for radio.

Sounds like your tappets in the engine have gone.

You will have to get a specialist to look at the radio.

Have you checked your Engine oil level lately?

... also, if it's a K-series engine, it may be time for a new head gasket. K engines love head gaskets.
