Say that you have a stock flat 4 engine from the early 70s capable of 0-60 in 17 seconds and a top speed of only about 80mph. What parts would you replace with performance parts in order to get the engine to a much higher level of performance.

What would be the parts you'd replace if

a)cost was no issue

b)You didn't want it to cost more than a reconditioned engine

c)Cost was an issue and you were looking for the cheapest ways possible to improv the engines performance

Also, in addition to changine the exhaust are there any other things you can do to change the engine note, to give it a deeper raspier sound?

Cheers guys

I think you should stop dreaming "the impossible dream"

Just put some "Go Faster stipes" on it and weld a drainpipe on the exhaust!

High lift cam, racing springs, gas flowed head, induction kit, 4 branch manifold and free flow exhaust.

And maybe Webber twin carbs
