hi to everyone, this is my first post, please be gentle with me,my man is in the middle of converting a ldv into a horse box for my ponies,he has noticed that 1 of the rear wheel cylinders is leaking badly, the problem is he just cannot get the wheel nuts off, do any of you kind people know if they are a left handed thread as he is scared to put 2 much pressure on the wheel key in case he snapes a stud, any help or suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks
You don't say wether it is the nearside wheel or the offside wheel you are trying to take off. If it is the N/S ( passenger side ) then there is a very good chance it will have a left hand thread.
hi there thank you very much to wallis1007 and thebhoy, my husband has no excuse to get on with the job now, many thanks to both of you for your valuable information. thanks again sparkybabe
another trick with 'reluctant nuts' is put pressure on with the socket and 'tweaky bar' (extension) then whack the end of the 't ' bar at the socket (in the line of the stud/nut) , this some times helps to break the rust seal that has formed. works better when heat is applied.
