Check the brakes dont squeal as this is a known fault amongst owners and yet very few dealers will accept it and replace the pads.
Check the seats are still on their runners. Another known issue is that they can come off the runner causing damage and of course they are extremely unsafe when loose.
I had a 52 plate 206cc which i sold last year. Im trying to remember all the things it went back for, which were many. May post back with more later

What's Bad
2+2, not a full four-seater. Have been problems with the roof mechanism and autobox of 1.6 auto. Otherwise, see 206. Fault in electronics of indicator stalks very common on 206s, expecially Multiplex, from July 2001. Free fix available in France from December 2002. 17th from bottom out of 137 models in 2003 Top Gear survey. On 206 GTIs used for short runs from cold emulsified oil can block the feeds to the hydraulic tappets leading them to fail within 3 years. Te cure is to fit oil feeds and tappets from the 2.2 engine. Came 13th = from bottom in 2005 JD Power/What Car Survey of 23,000 cars reg Sep 2002 to Aug 2003 with satisfaction score of 73.9%.
What to Watch Out For
Make sure roof opens and shuts properly. Check origin carefully as may be an import and may not have Peugeot 3 year warranty. Also see 206.
Recalls
15/1/2001: On 384 cars, front stub axle lower ball joint fixing may have been incorredtly machines, leading to separation of stub axle from ball joint and lower suspension arm. Cars to be checkedand stub axles replaced where necessary. 12/11/2001: Limited recall of 84 206s fitted with wrong part in the airbag module. April 2002: German recall of 206CCs due to a problem with the roof motor. Spring 2003: brake squeal problem cured by different pads. 20-11-2003: Recall of all RHD 206s built before February 2002 (51 reg or earlier) to replace a clevis pin on the brake pedal. Watch out for - seat squeaks and loose seats, working roof mechanism, working seat folding mechanism, correctly fitting and sealing doors and windows (check for wind noise at 40mph+)
Make sure you have choice of dealers in the area as some Peugeot dealers are pretty poor.
Don't buy the first you see as there are lots of these available. Don't let your heart spend too much money just because the sun is shining and you've been seduced!
