Speeding ......??
Not really sure where to put this but does anyone know if it's technically possible to be prosecuted for speeding on a bicycle? Obviously they couldn't give points etc because you don't need a licence but could you be fined? Obviously speed cameras could catch you but a real live copper could. There are several hills round my way and I can regularly get up to 40+ in a 30, any ideas anyone?

A cyclist can be prosecuted for cycling in a dangerous manner under the Road Traffic Act
Cycling offences and cycle racing
28 Reckless cycling.
29 Careless, and inconsiderate, cycling.
30 Cycling when under influence of drink or drugs.
31 Regulation of cycle racing on public ways.
32 Electrically assisted pedal cycles..
It would be difficult to prosecute for the offence of speeding as generally bicycles are not equipped with speedometers.
