Took to dealer because light was on and diagnostic showed a sensor faulty.(charged 58) Can I just obtain the part and get my own mechanic to fit it? Would it just 'kick in', or will it need to be the dealer again to re-set it. Difference being I can get a used part with warranty for 40 and pay my chap 15 to fit it as opposed to the 180 quoted by the dealer on top of what I've already paid!

I can only say I used to fit a new one myself with no problems on the Scorpio I had but things might have changed, it might have to be reset with the dealers Computer.
no problem on the rover 800, if the faulty part is changed the light will go out.
