light on a volvo dash?

Hi just wondering what a symbol is on a Volvo's dash, its an old one maybe a 440? im not good with volvos, but its a shape like a bulb with a X over it, i imagine its a bulb blown or somthing but the guy doesnt have a manual so im a bit lost. any help appreciated

its to tell you the bulb is blown, it should come on everytime you start the car and if all is well go off on the first touch of the brake pedal, if it doesnt go off then more than likely a bulb is blown or wire cut e.t.c.
WDUK2005 is right. Don't forget that if a brake light bulb is blown, you'll have to get someone to press the pedal with ignition on to see which one it is!
And if it is a brake light out, it's also a reason for the Old Bill to stop you... :-)
