You shouldn't have tried to bolt it back on.
5 from breakers and use window bonding glue.
Your insurance may have glass cover that doesn't affect your NCB. Normaly you pay a 50 excess, might be best not telling them how it happened though!

PS Rear view mirrors are a pain in the ass at this time of year. Ive found using really strong superglue alot more effective than the stuff sold specifically for sticking them back on (with the mesh etc). The mirror normally fell off after 5 secs with that crap.
with what crap?
"the stuff sold specifically for sticking them back on"

I'd agree load of rubbish. Stay on for a day and next time you get in it's on the floor again.
I meant goto a windscreen place and buy it from them , so what do you use?

Touareg-I wasn't reffering to your post. From mator factors you can buy a product which is basically glue and some mesh made for sticking your rear view mirror back on. In my experience it has never came cose to working, the glue is far too watery.

Last time I just bought decent glue and didn't bother with mesh etc and it stuck on in 30 secs, and its still up.
Thats ok , i know what you mean i should have been more pecific - kramer81.
I know most window compaines will sell you the window sealant aswell which is in a mastic tube and if you own a landrover its good for sealing big gaps lol.
