Mini number plates with your name on it??

Why do commerical vehicle drivers feel a need to make a wee number plate with there name on it??

im not being a kill joy i just dont get it!

Commercial drivers are quite sub-comunity, which is understandable because they spend long periods alone. It's nice for friends to meet up at services, and rest areas, and since no-one can recognise veryone's truck or van, a name-tag helps. That's the reason.

as previously said its to let other drivers know who you are . my plate says uncle fester my cb call name so i might be speaking to a stranger a week before on the cb and when parked up at a truck stop that stranger may aproach seeing my name plate and say we were talking a week ago so yes its basicly an indentity plate.
