electric window problem

Vehicle is a two year old Ford Galaxy . When I press for a full close on driver side ( double action switch - full or partial open/close ) the window closes fully and then goes to half open position. I can get it closed by using the partial close option on the switch. Any ideas on what might be causing the problem ?

All modern vehicles have a safety feature on the electric windows, If there is any obstruction to the window closing like a childs hand the symptons you describe will happen.

Perhaps the window is sensing stiffness and might need some lubrication or could need adjustment.

Thanks for that prompt reply Tourman -- what would you suggest for lubrication and would I need to remove the door interior panel ?

Homer, has the battery been disconnected from the vehicle lately? If it has i know that with Mondeos you have to reset the memory. Have you looked in the owners guide?

Hi whyme -- battery has never been disconnected. I will have a look in the owners manual as you suggest.

Reset the memory according to the handbook andall is now well ! You're a star whyme ! Owners manual now why didn't I think of that ? lol
