CC - MPG chart

Hi all, Does anyone know of any approx "Engine cc - Miles Per Gallon" chart? I realise it depends on driving conditions and size of car but i i was just wondering if there is any average chart available. Thanks!

Hi there, cars types and driving styles vary so much that such a chart would be meaningless.

A modern 3 litre BMW could achieve 30-35 mpg if driven like hearse, whereas a 1 litre fiat could achieve far less than that if driven by the average 17 yr old lad with his mates in the back.

Size doesn't always matter...

Just by a modern Turbo diesel and revel in the torque!

Hey Toureman - according to that site, if I want an economical car in all driving conditions I should looking for a Heinkel 200 Bubblecar...

Rob is absolutely right, there is no direct relationship between cubic capacity and fuel economy, Its also influenced by vehicle size, weight, drag, and MOST importantly how the car is driven.
A good example is my rally car (an Astra Gte 2000cc) when driven on the stage it returns around 7-10mpg because im always on full throttle or braking hard, The same car driven on the road gently will give 25-30 mpg.
