if the light says "serv" this is not a service light but an engine managment fault

happened with mine. needs to get hooked up to the renault diagnostic machine. renault will charge you for the privaledge, a few independent co.s have these units but are hard to find. They will clear codes and it will go away, unless there is a genuine fault. Mine was caused by gearbox (defaulting to 2nd gear (auto)) and slipped its clutch to all gears, causing high wear and the need for reconditioned box that then turned out to be a piston in gearbox then it was basically a write-off.
