Why is Diesel more expensive?
The duty on unleaded petrol and diesel are the same at 37.1p litre. The cost of producing diesel is cheaper (it is a lower fraction in the process).
It seems to me that the public are once again the fall guys for the unscrupulous shenanigans of the oil companies. Or am I missing something which can explain the 4p or 5p difference between the two products?
