cat c total loss
6 Answers
hi
im thinking of buying a cat c ford fiesta from ebay 04 plate
for 2500 with 7000 on the clock
the car has been fully repaired but has no log book, swansea confirm that it is a cat c and just needs a vic check, my insurance company wont insure it, but another will with the log book and a mot, as the car isnt due a mot until feb 07 this is a prob, the owner has told me that he will get the car moted now, and forward it and will give me in writing a full refund if the car dosnt pass the vic
which he is sure it will, also he has said i can fully inspect the car before i part with any cash.
does this sound ok and what are your views on the safety aspect of this car(it was rear ended), are there any things i should look out for
WHOULD YOU BUY THIS CAR
many thanks

You cannot tell much from photos, my son in law had a 1 year old volvo estate that was rear ended, the damage was slight and the other drivers insurance paid for the repair at a Volvo dealers.
It was about 2 months later as he was washing the car he found a crease across the rear of the roof, very hard to see.
He traded in the car quickly and got a good price for it.

hello mates, i'ii just like to make u aware that the autlign tests are a load of cr*p, the guy charges 50 to suck c**k, the reason why i say this is that he dont ave a clue if u take a car down which aint made frm metal, as that paint depth meter does the job!
but on fibreglass or carbonfibre cars; tvr/noble/lotus he dont ave a clue, i had abt 45 cars passed with bodgered fibreglass work and the c**k sucker passed them all, then i took a porsche 997 down replaced the roof and 1/4 panels and the fool failed it sayin the car was a sectional repair (cutn shut)
so there u go i would b very suspect abt this so called autlign test as it dont mean fu*kall if u know what ur doing!
thanks
