CD not working
Hi,
My daughter has a Ford Ka3 R reg. The CD is not working. Every time she puts a CD in she gets 'error' displayed. It is not a copy CD and it has been put in correctly.
I rang the local Ford dealer and they told me that the CD player would have to be sent away for repair and they advised me that ot would be best and cheaper to get a new CD.
Can any CD be purchased to replace it? My daughter wants a CD changer that can be put in the boot. Is that possible? I really know nothing about all this and hope someone can help andadvise. regards, Pete

They are doing great deals with free and half price fitting. It is probably worth getting a new one as advised. It is very simple to fit the new new unit as you can get a facia plate especially designed for the KA dash. Good luck.
My KA had a standard cassette player. The whole section comes out. The facia kit was about 13 and a wiring was also about the same. The Sony unit was 99 plus 20 (half price) fitting. However, you can get cheaper units or more expensive ones. I guess you get what you pay for. The sales guy was helpful and I am well happy with it. Regarding a multi CD stacker - you can get these but they are very expensive. They tune in to a spare radio station selector. Also you can get CD player's cheaper on-line but I was happy to pay a little extra just to get it sorted. They fitted whilst I waited. It only took the guy 10 mins and went through all the controls with me (but setting the clock requied a read on the manual!). Good luck. Pete, let us know how you get on.
Many thanks for that very useful info. It helps a lot! Good They can match everyhnthing to the fascia. I have contacted Halfords and they can fit one in like you suggested. She wants a CD changer in the boot ( 12 disc CD changer no less!) She feels her CD's will be safer that way. No real place to put all her CD's in the car.
