bicycle gears, wrong section but need a technical answer
need to completley adjust me front derailuer, whats the best way to do it form scrtach, adjust it one way and put it on the top or bottom sprocket, and the adjust the cable, any ideas its a shimano nexave, 3 sprocket index type thingy

Firstly ensue there is no great slack in't cable. I would set the gear in 2nd, and lever in 2nd before checking cable. Then you have 2 stops to limit travel, in or outwards thus changing the chain from one sprocket to the next. What my old man used to call a triple clanger many years ago, before all bikes had them.
Probably easier to do than describe.
