I have just bought an Audi A2 1.4 DTI and am surprised to find the insurance seems to be higher than my Focus 1.8 . Can anyone recommend a particularly cheap insurance company. I have only 3 yrs no claims after a tiny prang last year!

Try Egg or Tesco insurance. They have been consistantly the cheapest for me over the past 3 years or so and I have 3 points on my licence (soon to be gone....phew!).

If you buy online you usually get a 10 or 20 percent discount as well.

I believe Norwich Union are giving out good discounts at the moment for buying online.
Try confused.com - fill in one form and get quotes from lots of insurers.

i have used them for house and car insurance and got good results
You have to be a bit careful when using 'aggregator' sites like confused.com as they sometimes give you the wrong information and some companies will pay them to list their quotes at the top of the results.

It's not a bad idea but you do need to be aware of this.

Also check what the policy covers you for. It's not necessarily a good idea to go for the cheapest quote. Make sure you check what the policy will give you in the event of a claim (courtesy car etc).

I have tried confused and a few others and none of them will give me an excess of less than 370, which is a bit steep!!
I'm with Budget, they're well cheap and I'm in my second year of receving free breakdown cover with them. Bargain!
Just out of interest I think you'll find the Audi A2 has some aluminium body panels like the A8 to save weight which are costly to repair hence the high insurance group.
