how do i turn off the passenger airbags in a T Reg Renault Megane?

Just to hazzard a guess but is there not somewhere in the glovebox that you`d turn it off with the ignition key?

just went and looked, nowhere in the glovebox, but thanks!!i think it must be possible as i looked in manual, it says you can disable them, but doesnt tell you how!

Is there any other place ie on the passengers side, because I would have thought it would have to be deactivated by a key instead of just flicking a switch, then again I maybe wrong :(

normally there is a key switch on the passenger edge of the dash, you will need the car door open to do this, if not ring the main dealer and ask cos if you touch the wrong bit then BANG, there will be nothing to turn off

The ability to disable passenger airbags on Renault Meganes didn't come in until the New Shape Megane was introduced in 2002.

You can have the airbag disconnected at a dealership. You will be asked to sign a document that states that you are aware that in the event of an accident the airbag will not go off.

This is your only option.
