CD Autochanger
I have just purchased a car which came with a 6 disc CD Autochanger fitted in the glovebox.I have audio controls on the steering wheel and I can use them to switch between CD/Radio/Tape mode.My problem is the CD Autochanger is several years old and does not play CD-R/RW discs, which just happens to be what most of my music is stored on.I would like to replace the unit in the glovebox with something more upto date which plays my CD-R/RW Discs and MP3s, but I am completely lost when it comes to car audio and have no idea what I need.I dont even know if the unit in the glovebox is the control unit for the CD, or if it is just a CD Changer unit, (it is about 9 inches square if that is any help). Also, once I understand a little more about what I need to purchase, would I still be able to control the new CD System via the steering wheel controls?
If it is any help, my car is a Rover 75 Connoisuer (1999).I have no idea if the CD unit was factory fitted, but I just assumed so because there is screen in the middle if the dashboard, and when I use the steering wheel controls to change modes, text appears on the screen stating what mode I am in (CD, Radio,Tape), and when in CD mode it shows stuff like track one, and a track timer.
Any advice would be most apreciated.
