Sorry will finish the answer now;-
I would have to say its the Vauxhall Corsa or Ford Fiesta, easy to maintain plenty of spare parts available at good prices.reasonable insurance groups. possibly the 1.1 engines maybe a bit under powered for long motorway runs but if it is just for running around town and local journeysI would go for either of these. Good Luck
i got my daughter a micra 1.0 g reg totaly reliable and dirt cheap on the insurance. if she prangs it or it breaks it's dead easy to fix.
next year we will look at getting her a 206 or simillar and her insurance will have a bit of NCD so will be cheaper.
got the car off e-bay, dead cheap, like i say bargain.
make sure you have aa/rac cover then rack up a bit of NCD and experience before moving onto something smarter.
also if you are in a gti or sporty model you are more likly to clock a speeding or other offence. in her micra she is happy toddling about. she does watford to pompey regularly no probs but anything longer might be a challenge though.
hope this helps, mark
Yes definately agree with Fiesta and Corsa. I learned to drive in a Corsa it was more than adequate at the time. Unfortunately I have bigger car now and Im petrified to reverse park because its twice the size!!
a 1 litre vw polo will do the job great .reliable smart and they run 4 eva buy a corsa or fietsa it will be unreliable.u cant beat vw.
