Citroen C5 (2002) - steering problems

Anyone have any idea why my Citroen C5 makes a noise like a liopn roaring whenever I turn the steerring wheel - just started happening and my other half says tghe steering locked on here the other day whilst turning a corner........

Have you checked the power steering fluid, the cap will have a dip stick on the inside, usualy when that runs low the steering will grown, and now and again get heavy or seem to lock up, until eventually you will have no power and you will have to hang on the steering wheel to turn it.
