Hi
It is a good thing sometimes it helps stop carjacking & bag grabbing ,my merc done this as a standard thing, but not when keys were left in it, i couldn't even use the other key to lock door when key was left in the ignition.
if nobody else answers this- have a look in you owners manual to see if the central locking works automatically when moving off,
never leave your keys in the ignition when you leave it unattended even for two seconds, this will invalidate your insurance if someone drives off in it.
i live in the states and my Scion XB will not lock if the keys are in the ignition and the car is off. My friend has a Ford Focus that when she drives over 10 mph the doors automatically lock. If i'm walking towards my locked car and i use the fob to unlock it from a distance if i dont open the door within one minute it will automatically relock.
May be a fault or water in the electrics.

Happened to me once very embarrassingly, driving an MAN articulated lorry. The air pressure had dropped so I started the engine, went to the back to open the trailer doors, and when I got back to the cab the door had locked. Windows shut, engine running.
Panic Button. Why stop when it's getting interesting? Like reading a book and finding the last page missing.
