Water Leak

I own a Citroen Xantia estate car. I am having a terrible problem with water entering the rear tailgate. It appears to be coming fron behind the rear screen wiper motor I have tried resealing the windsreen. Is it possible for an ameteur to remove the windscreen wiper to check. Or is there an alternative to resolve this problem ?

Do you have a sunroof? That could be the source of the leak if the drain holes are blocked.

Could be the rubber seals around the tailgate.

Thanks for your helpful reason I do not have a sunroof
but I will try your other suggestion. But I feel sure the problem lies, probaly behind the wiper motor.
